Jack Cayton, a full time working artist for over twenty years, maintains a studio  on the Little Pee Dee River in South Carolina, painting the southeastern landscape.  He is primarily a realist painter, working in a traditional manner in oils, painting the effects of weather and the seasons.  His interpretation of the genre has been influenced by the later luminist works of artists such as John Kensett and Francis Silva.

Jack's work attracts both private and corporate collectors, not only in the United States but also in Germany and England. The calm reflective mood of his work has led to the placement of paintings at hospitals throughout the southeast.  His award winning paintings have also been displayed at the Lotus Club, the Salmugundi Club, and the National Arts Club in New York.

Cayton is represented by galleries in Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
